V. 4

The large mastiff expelled from the city
Will be vexed by the strange alliance,
After having chased the stag to the fields
The wolf and the Bear will defy each other.

This quatrain talks about the German-Soviet Pact, signed on 24-SEP-1939, just at the beginning of the WW II.

The symbols used are the following:

         mastin: Winston Churchill, England

         cerf: Poland

        wolf: Germany

        Ours (bear): Soviet Union (URSS)

The first verse says that Churchill ina political ostracism would be compelled to protest against the German-Soviet Pact, that would mean the iminence of the war.

The second verse talks about his reaction to the pact by his speeches.

The third anbd fourth verses say that after Germany have invaded Poland, URSS and Germany would defy each other.
