V. 5. Under the
shadowy pretense of removing servitude, |
|
This quatrain talks about the discourse of
Adolph Hitler, the Putch of Munich, the Weimar Republic and Hitler on the
prison of Landsberg, where he wrote the Mein Kampf. The first verse talks about the discourse of Adolph Hitler. First, there was the Versailhes Treaty, that imposed Germany "humiliating" conditions (in fact the treaty was inappropriate, but for Hitler it was an opportunity to go fishing). Second, the Jews and communists. Germany (according his speeches) was enslaved by the Jews that would detain the whole wealth of the country. And the communists also represented a menace. The second verse talks about the Munich Putch. It was just an upheaval that he painted as "war". The reason of the putch is depicted on the third verse. The Weimar Republic was born already dead. The corruption level was high and Berlin got almost transformed in a brothel due the destitute practices (including an openly children prostitution). The fourth verse says that he would be free while he was in prison and this is a reference to the Landsberg. In act, Hitler had special privileges in Landsberg. And also there was "reading sessions" of his ideas. Landsberg was a not a prison for Hitler. And the preface referred on the fourth verse is the preface of the Mein Kampf. |
