VIII. 46. Pol mensolée mourra trois lieuës du rosne, Fuis les deux prochains tarasc destrois : Car mars fera le plus horrible trosne, De coq & d'Aigle de France freres trois. |
VIII. 46.
Jonh Paul II will die 12 km
from Rosne (River) |
|
This quatrain probably talks about the death of the Pope John Paul II. The first verse says he will die 12 km from the Rosne4 River. The term "lieuës" means an old mesure of distance equivalent to 4 km. We don't know the meaning of the second verse. The term "tarasc" has been translated by "monster", but the city of Tarrascon is near the Rosne River also.
The third and fourth verses talks about the future Italy invasion and its
consequences: an alliance of the Cock (the Jovialist), the Eagle (possibly
Francis Arinze) and the Cardinal from France, Lutzinger. This will occur in
2008.
